Located inside the gates of Marine Corps Base Quantico (MCBQ) are a series of singletrack trails maintained by the Quantico Mountain Bike Club that are incredibly challenging and rewarding. If you don’t have access to MCBQ, don’t fret, the Quantico Mountain Bike Club hosts the annual Quantico Epic, which gives riders from all around the region the opportunity to sample all of the trail offerings during a well organized event. The club marks multiple courses of varying distance so that you to can enjoy this wonderful resource.

MCBQ Trail System

Location: Triangle, VA

Length: 15+ Miles
Ride Time: 1 - 3 hours, depending on skill level and trails ridden. Unfortunately, the MCBQ trail system is not an open system and in order to ride it you need a valid reason to be aboard the base; that said, a lot of regional riders have the opportunity to tag along with someone who does, and often do, to access this amazing network of trails.

The QMTB also has room for a limited number of non-DoD affiliated civilians to join for a $20.00 annual fee. Shoot them a message and they’ll give you details on how.

QMTB also hosts an annual Epic Event that gives riders an opportunity to follow one of several challenging pre-marked courses. The event is incredibly popular and offers users who would otherwise not be able to access this valuable resource an opportunity to do so.

Unaffiliated DoD Civilians can also enroll in the base’s DBIDS program to gain access to the base, again, a valid reason to do so is required.
